Sora's Bicycle Ride is a no-brainer for summers. Stands head and shoulders above the generic done-and-dusted freshie aquatics. It's clean, fresh, sophisticated and genuinely feels like a saunter through pleasant sunny weather. If that wasn't enough, it survives 40+ degree weather with ease and stays for hours. Coming back for a 100ml bottle soon.

I randomly came across House of Kanzan while scrolling Reddit and wasn’t sure if it was worth trying. Then a friend of mine picked up their Passage 01 collection and wouldn’t stop talking about it.

Met him, tried Cafe Kintsugi and Sora’s Bicycle Route… and yeah, I was sold instantly. Couldn’t stop thinking about those scents after that.

I was actually looking for a good everyday office perfume, so I decided to go with Sora’s Bicycle Route. Waited a week, got the package—and honestly, the whole unboxing experience was super fun. The storytelling, the little details, even the bottle design—it all felt very thoughtfully done.

I’ve used designer stuff before like Chanel Allure, D&G The One, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille… and yeah, they’re great, but the unboxing experience is pretty standard for how expensive they are. This felt way more personal.

As for the fragrance—Sora’s Bicycle Route smells amazing. It’s got this really nice earthy vibe with neroli that just works so well. Perfect for daily wear.

If you haven’t tried them yet, I’d definitely recommend checking them out. Maybe start with samples and see what clicks for you.

The first one from Kanzan that smelled like a known designer perfume for me. Usually these guys are very orginal in their creations. Now be warned that it smells nothing like Wulong Cha or Hermes un jardin sur le nil, which have been listed as similar scents in the description. But surprise suprise, this is the same DNA/ family as PDM Valaya. Or it's middle eastern dupe Mystique bouquet, but Sora is a nicer, more natural smelling version. It lasts extremely long, is sharp and cool, and will stubbornly stand up to humid summers exactly like Valaya does, but at a fraction of the cost.

From the Passage collection, SBR and Seian Monestry are the highlights. One of them felt like pure therapy: calming, comforting, almost meditative. In a cooled AC room, it stayed noticeable for about 4 hours, but I did need to reapply to keep it fresh.
I also tested Monsoon Archive and July together, and Plum Season Suzhou was the real standout—absolutely out of the world. It boasts strong projection, though the sillage (the scent trail as you move) isn’t quite as powerful as I’d like.
Overall, Kanzan’s fragrances are evocative and well-constructed, with a clear poetic identity. A bit more work on sillage would make them even more immersive.

The free samples—Garden of Small Charms and 9 Celestial Seals, received along with Monsoon Archive—are very unique. They lean more towards floral notes, creating a graceful, feminine scent profile.

I live in an incredibly humid coastal city where fresh fragrances go to die. This is the first aquatic-citrus that survives a sweaty afternoon outdoor walk and still projects like crazy. Absolutely elite performance

Strong citrus peel and neroli. Good longevity and projection

I would have bought this for the name alone. But the perfume is just as lovely. Clean, green, fresh in a mellow rain washed Himalayan countryside in spring kinda way.

'Sora's Bicycle Route' is the perfume equivalent of a memory that escaped on a pleasant morning. It opens with with an airy brightness that isn't aggressively citrusy, but rather breezy with a hint of green. The fragrance settles down with a lived-in softness. It's almost like nostalgia — a delicate melancholy beneath joy. "Mono no aware", as some would put it.

Performance-wise, it doesn't intend to call out to the room. It wears close to the skin and unfolds gently through the day. It is restrained in its nature and you'll only notice it suddenly — just the way you'd find an old photograph with sun-bleached edges. It is quietly beautiful.

House of Kanzan excels at storytelling, and Sora’s Bicycle Route feels like an indie film in a bottle. It perfectly captures that transition from a busy city to a quiet country road

Don't have much to speak about the presentation. We all know its peak.

The scent itself -
The notes I do notice are Citrus, Neroli (dominant), the cool air accord does make sense. I was surprised to notice a scent that reminds me of sunlight, turns out it does have 'sun warmed grass' as a note. The musk is also pretty obvious. Would've loved to have a bit more vetiver, couldn't detect at all. The neroli is present throughout and is the life of the party.
Also, really good replica of what this fragrance is supposed to feel like. I loved the notes of sun warmed grass and cool air accord.

Performance -
Excellent. I heard Kanzan frags do struggle a bit with performance & projection, but this one is nowhere near that notion. I easily get 12+ hours outdoors on clothes. Indoors it might just stay on for full day. Although it becomes simple neroli & musk after 6-7 hours.
I was not confident about the projection on this one. But today I went out to shop with 1 spray on, met a friend by chance and they instantly went like 'you've covered yourself in perfume'. They were surprised when I told them it was just one spray. Maybe I was going nose blind.

Overall rating - 9-9.5/10
What could be better -
1 - Wish the dry down evolution would persist a bit longer.
2 - A bit more vetiver/earthiness

Sure fragrance is fine but the delivery sucks! had to go to bluedart warehouse and get it by myself cause the delivery agent kept marking it wrong

If namjoon's bicycle song was a perfume this would be it! Trandsorms you into the warm sunny green fields of the countryside

Hands down one of the most unique fragrances I’ve ever owned.

Smells like premium laundry.The performance is insane for a fresh scent, but I don't want to smell like high-end detergent all day long. Lacks complexity.

The opening 15 minutes are incredibly harsh and sharp on the nose. Once the neroli calms down it's nice, but that initial blast is tough

What I love most is the dry down; the vetiver here isn't dirty or smoky, it’s clean, grassy, and elegant, deeply reminiscent of Heeley’s Neroli Veritas. It creates a soft, clean aura around you that stays for a full workday
