Café Kintsugi

When I was full term pregnant, I would visit the hospital cafeteria before my appointment with doctor. A very kind elderly waiter would serve me breakfast. His gentle eyes saying "savkash ho yo de" "take your time" " take care"...its been so many years..i had completely forgotten...cafe Kintsugi took me there!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

This isnexactly what i was looking for. I was tired of geting spice blast in tge name of gormaund and reallyvwanted something like a sweet cake, brewing smell lingering around me.
Here is my honest word if you really want something sweet and mind you sweet not azzaro intense or dior homme edt just cakey feeling on a winter evening not choking anyone but keeping everyone confused by little brimming smell of cake or hot bakery sweet thing have this one.

Good work kanzans this is a gem that is really not talked too much about.

I'm not sure if i have got a defective batch or something because the other reviews surprise me. Its the weakest i've tried from the entire range of House of Kanzan perfumes. It opens up a bit choclatey and that's it. In under 30 seconds ( I kid you not!) its gone and i'm left with the faintest sweet smell for the next few hours and that's it. Will not be rebuying this.

The opening is a bit overpowering for me, but settles into a lovely deep, sweet note that I find days later, buried in my clothes. I dont care much about longevity beyond this. I always wanted a sweet gourmand. This one is a keeper. Feels like a hug.

A bit too strong. One spray and you can't get the smell out for hours, too sweet for summer

I loved this more than Cafe Neroli, it's "too warm" for me. However, this feels really homey. Like a warmly lit nook in my faourite coffee shop. It has a very welcoming vibe to it. The notes clearly stand out as gourmand, raisin and maybe vanilla. It smells like freshly baked desserts and this is gonna be a winter staple for me now ;)))

Tbh, I thought something was wrong with me since I just couldn't appreciate Cafe Neroli. It's such a well received, popular one.

This is playful confidence. Ambivert in a bottle. This scent is a smooth talker as well as an attentive listener.

More of an incense or dhoop like smell like instead of coffee or vanilla

Most realistic café vibe I've found. It doesn't smell like Starbucks; it smells like a vintage boutique coffee shop

Way too heavy on the praline. It became cloying after an hour

The chocolate note is bitter and sophisticated, not sugary. The oud gives it a great 'woody table' backbone

I like this one more than Café Neroli and Golden Jazz. Not too surprising though, considering Passage 01 as a whole feels noticeably more 'niche' compared to some of the other chapters from the house.

This is actually the first perfume I’ve smelled in this budget where I can clearly pick up all the listed top notes. They’re not equal in strength of course, but usually in most perfumes you don’t even perceive every top note individually. Here you can if you carefully smell it. The opening for the first 20 to 30 minutes is mainly chocolate and praline with vanilla acting more like the backbone holding everything together rather than dominating the show, which I’m very happy about.

After that the fragrance becomes fairly linear. But I don’t mean that as an insult at all. When you pack this many notes from a similar gourmand family into one perfume the transitions between top, heart and base naturally blur together.

Even though it’s clearly a gourmand, the oud and woody elements give it a really elegant and luxurious feel. I also noticed something similar to Murasaki Bookshop in the way it eventually becomes a skin scent, maybe the woods are responsible for that.

I’m giving it a 4/5. Honestly I wouldn’t say anything here is poorly done. The composition and ratios feel spot on (at least to me… probably not to those who love a heavy vanilla bomb). The only reason it doesn’t get a perfect score is my own shameless bias. I’m not a gourmand fan at all. So the fact that a lifelong gourmand hater is giving this a 4/5 should say a lot about how good it actually is.
