Enjoying the Mallige Fragrance

Smells like a slightly damp, rain-washed street in a temple town in Tamil Nadu, early in the morning. I can imagine wearing this to South Indian morning weddings and on festive days. Smells like garlands and puja flowers and fresh mango leaves. It's a pretty photo-realistic tuberose, with some jasmine. I am on a spree to review all my Kanzan perfumes and while Lost in Madurai didn't immediately send me into rapture like the other Japan inspired perfumes, it slowly grew on me through the samples till I caved and ordered a full bottle.

Opening is more jasmine forward which is okay but it settles into a tuberose scent on my skin which is so beautiful. I am obsessed with it . Everytime I wear it, it makes me so happy.

I had bought the sample set of all the chapters and the ones I liked the most were Lost in Madurai and Poets of Kyoto. Ended up buying full bottles of both. Lost in Madurai smells divine and puts me in a happy mood every time I wear it. It might be a tad strong in the opening and might trigger people with sensitive noses so try the sample first.

Notes are good.It just has an artificial feel

fell for the instagram ads. but the scent is too strong for me and is that of a very artificial jasmine notes. no complex floral notes. plus it wears off quickly and then only the artificial fragrance remains

Subtle jasmine scent with complex notes, lingers on for long on body , but very subtle like you need to be in 4 inches within range of person to smell it. Personally I like this part, too strong smells give headaches.

It'sa genuinely lovely fragrance and lasts longer too. No less than premium international brand in terms of quality. Absolutely value for money.

Definitely a feminine fragrance ! And a very good one. the fragrance really feels inspired by madurai and it really smells like the description given, although the jasmine buds dominates. One doesn't need to wear flowers for occasions. This perfume does the trick.

So when they say dewy jasmine buds and not jasmine, they mean it. This is delicate jasmine, just blooming. I don't get a lot of tuberose, fragipani and lotus are there. This doesn't really give flower market, more like quiet street in south india at dawn. It's a very particular smell and they've captured it nicely.

Cedar is a tad too sharp and according to me, intrusive. It's like walking down your little street and catching a whiff of a passerby's aftershave.

Green and floral, fresh. More ambient scent than perfume.

Smells bright, warm, and inviting. Does feel like a floral market in Madurai. Good scent for everyday use or when you want to feel nostalgic.
